Transforming Your Life Through Dance

  • Transform Your Mind and Spirit - Regardless of our age, our mind and spirit is an integral part of who we are.   While learning the art of Ballroom dance, time disappears as we change our focus of attention from our daily activities and problems to moving our bodies to the rhythm of the music. Through this delightful discipline, we not only grow in self esteem and inner awareness, but provide our mind with a wonderful method of practicing focus.

  • Transform Your Body - We can also say that our body is yet another integral part of who we are.  As we evolve from childhood to adulthood, we become increasingly aware of the importance of physical fitness and health.  Health is defined as not just the absence of illness, but more importantly, the maintaining of our functionality for as long as possible. Ballroom dancing is a great form of fitness which provides a healthy method of movement that promotes muscle tone, increases our flexibility, and helps us maintain our coordination. And better yet, anyone can Ballroom Dance for fitness.  Age is not a deterrent, size is not a deterrent, and most importantly physical disability is not a deterrent.  All that is really needed is the desire to learn and the dedication to practice.

  • Transform Your Relationships - Another very important part of our integral life is our relationship to others. As a Ballroom Dancer, gender awareness is clearly defined as we connect with our partners in movement, each one bringing the separate, yet equally important, masculine or feminine role.  Cultural awareness is reflected by the beautiful dances that have their roots from all over the world.  Communication skills, dance etiquette, and cooperation are all transformative parts of the practice of Ballroom Dancing.  And the fruits of this practice carry over to all aspects of ones relationship with others.
